🧡 FINDING BIG LOVE AT ANY AGE 🧡

It’s never too late. Really.

If I were someone who put a lot of stock in the odds of getting what my soul desires, I’d not have the life I have today.

Fortunately, however, the likelihood of something being possible has never been what steered my ship. Have I stumbled and had disappointments and heartbreak? Certainly.

BUT MY WILLINGNESS TO BELIEVE IN THE POSSIBILITY OF SOMETHING — OFTEN DESPITE CURRENT EVIDENCE TO THE CONTRARY — IS WHAT HAS ME WRITING THIS ON THE FIRST ANNIVERSARY OF MY MARRIAGE TO MY SOUL MATE.

I turned 60 just weeks after Chris and I eloped — which is older than your average bride, for sure, but that’s nuthin’. My own grandmother remarried at the age of 68, some time after my grandfather passed away, and she and Billy, who was 80, had an amazing, inspiring love and seven beautiful years of happiness together until he passed at 87. Given the way she talked about those years, I’m clear she was grateful to have had that glorious bonus chapter of love in her story.

I’ve worked with many women in their 40s, 50s, 60s and yes, 70s, who have discovered that love is still something on the menu of life…and they’re ordering.

One of those women — witty, gorgeous, accomplished and in her early 70s — got past significant resignation and vowed that she was going to find her playmate for life. She and aforementioned playmate found each other within about six months, and she is now married to this great love and living a life she once thought wasn’t even possible for her. #BOOM.

Another woman in her late 50s had had great love with her husband, but he’d passed more than 10 years ago. She wanted to experience Big Love again but the idea of dipping her toe in the dating pool was about as exciting as doing her taxes. We got her shined up and her energy in the right place and hellooooo love! She sent me a text recently with a pic of the flowers the new man in her life sent her. #thiscouldbeyou

I was recently honored to be interviewed by Gail Zugerman, host of the Growing Older with Gusto podcast, on this very subject: Finding Big Love at Any Age.

I invite you to give it a listen! In addition to sharing some of my personal story, we chat about how you can rewire your brain for love (which I’ve also written about here), overcome the shadows of loss or disappointing relationships, and find your own Big Love!
