Season 2 begins Wednesday, October 7 · Five seats open

The Voltage Room

Something in you is ready to move.

A small, live practice room for women in the second half of life who've done the reflecting and want their lives to show it.

Maybe it's a desire you barely let yourself say out loud. A decision you keep circling. A conversation you keep postponing. Or a quiet sense that something deserves your attention now.

No goal required. You come with your life.

Six live sessions on Zoom · Every other Wednesday, Oct 7 – Dec 16 · Twelve women, five seats open

You have a structure for everything but this.

You have a trainer, or the Pilates class, or the walk you don't skip. A calendar for your work. Something on the books for your money, your teeth, the gutters, the car.

Every important thing in your life has a structure that holds it.

Every important thing but one.

The work of staying awake to your own life — what's alive in you, what's shifting, what's quietly asking for you now — gets left to maybe I'll journal this weekend. A podcast stirs something real on the drive home, and by dinner it's gone. A feeling surfaces in the shower and slips down the drain with the water.

Not because it doesn't matter. Because there's nowhere for it to go.

No rhythm. No company. No room built to catch the current before it dissipates.

The Voltage Room is that room.

A small, live circle — never more than twelve — where this becomes something you actually do, on a rhythm, in the company of women who take their own lives as seriously as you take yours.

Not a big audience. Not a course you watch alone and forget. A room small enough that you're known by name, and substantial enough that the conversation goes where it needs to go.

What’s a Live Wire?

It's whatever keeps tugging at you right now: the novel in the drawer, the business you're quietly ready to leave, the body asking for more of you. When you think about it, something in you hums. That hum is where we start.

You don't need a polished goal. Some women arrive with a clear desire or decision. Others arrive with an ache, an irritation, or a pull they can't name yet. Either way, we find it together.

Find your Live Wire. Become one.

Where else do you get this?

Your friends know who you've been. Your family remembers who you were. A retreat sees you for a week.

Here, a circle of women sees who you're becoming, remembers what you said you'd do, and can't wait to hear what happened.

The method

A dojo for grown women. You bring what has charge. We help it move.

Five moves, practiced on your own Live Wire over six live sessions. You leave every session with your next move, and the moves add up.

  1. Find the live thing. What matters most now?

  2. Meet the interference. What gets in the way?

  3. Build the conditions. What will help it live?

  4. Make the move. Then the next one.

  5. Read the evidence. What happened? What do you want?

What you leave with

  • Real movement on what matters most to you, not just more insight about it.

  • Confidence built on proof: a record of what you actually did.

  • A circle of women who take you seriously and want to hear what happened next.

  • Skills that stay with you. The Live Wire changes. What you can do keeps growing.

  • Less second-guessing. Setbacks stop feeling like proof something's wrong with you.

When you get good at this

This is a dojo, so nobody hands out black belts in one season. But the practice builds on itself, and women start to notice things like this:

  • The time between a setback and your next move keeps getting shorter. Months become weeks, then days.

  • Your wanting gets more specific, not smaller. "I want to write" becomes "the essay about my mother, pitched to three places by March."

  • You can hear a hard fact without collapsing or armoring up. A no becomes something to read, not a ruling on you.

  • You tell the truth sooner, to yourself and to other people.

Each season, you can carry more current.

Four seasons.

One practice.

Every season begins by finding your Live Wire. Keep the same one all year, or follow a new one when it lights up. Each season looks through a new lens, so returning women build on what they've done instead of starting over.

This fall: Gathering

This season we look at the people around your Live Wire, at home, at work, and out in the world. Instead of bracing for their reactions, you let them meet who you're becoming, and discover what's possible between you now.

Here's what nobody says out loud: a lot of what we're waiting for is someone else's reaction. And sometimes, when we grow, we really do lose people. That deserves company too.

Your Live Wire doesn't have to be about relationships. The season's theme is a lens, not an assignment. Whatever you bring, we'll look at who's in its circuit.

Who’s in the room

Coaches, therapists, and leaders. Women who've run companies, published magazines, and led agencies and hospital floors. If you spend your life holding the room for others, here you don't have to. I hold it.

“A group of powerhouses.”

So what actually happens in the room?

A Live Wire focus for the season

One living place in your actual life receives your warm, deliberate attention, so your growth compounds instead of scattering.

A new Mastery Move each session

A clean distinction, question, or practice that helps you relate to your Live Wire differently and live from that shift between sessions.

Live coaching with me, in the room

The thing that changes you is being met with warmth, precision, and enough loving backbone to stop abandoning what’s alive.

Voltage Reports between sessions

Short field notes inside the private room, where you name what you’re noticing, choosing, trying, softening, releasing, or bringing into form around your Live Wire.

This is how the growth becomes visible before the old reflex can convince you nothing is happening.

A room of alive, discerning women

Accountability that comes from love. You stop making your life alone.

By the end of a season, something has changed because you kept company with the part of your life that was asking for attention.

Something softened.

Something clarified.

Something moved.

Something exists that did not before.

Evidence, standing in your life after the season ends.

Who’s guiding the room

I’m Deb Beroset, writer, creative catalyst, founder of Moxie, and currently writing Moxie & Eros: Reclaiming Beauty, Desire, and Aliveness.

For decades, I’ve worked at the intersection of language, human development, creativity, and innovation: as an award-winning journalist, a senior communications leader, a seminar leader, and Editorial Director of New Ventures at Hallmark, where I helped build brand voice, creative culture, and spaces where better work could emerge because the conversation itself got better.

That’s always been my territory: the living edge between what makes people come alive and the conditions that let it take form.

That’s why, ten years into Moxie, I built the Voltage Room.

“I’ve met plenty of brilliant strategists and plenty of deep thinkers. What I almost never find is both in the same person…Deb is the unicorn I’d been looking for and frankly wasn’t sure existed.

“She sees the pattern before anyone else in the room can name it, and she has the moxie to say it plainly, in language that doesn’t just inform people, it moves them.

“Accomplished, skeptical people lean in when Deb speaks. That’s not a skill you teach. That’s who she is.”

— Matt Ludmer, Founder, Aligned Wealth Management · Author, The Right Mountain
